Here are some of Michael’s favourite swings, a combination of speed, balance and consistency.
Tiger Woods 3 wood. A MODEL SWING. Perfect plane on both backswing and downswing.
John Daly’s very long backswing. This can cause some inconsistencies during swing.
But his motion at impact is perfect. A circle.
Jon Rahm has a short backswing but his incredible lag on downswing creates great speed.
Dustin Johnson may be the strongest athlete on the PGA Tour.
Adam Scott hitting Driver. Such powerful leg drive on backswing
Dustin Johnson may have most powerful swing, but his left wrist is bowed.
Tiger Woods hands forward at impact causing a solid strike every time.
Jon Rahm, like DJ, has a bowed left wrist on the backswing, you have to be very strong to do this!!!
Michelle Wie has great hip rotation on downswing creating awesome speed.
Ernie Els. Perfect rhythm, balance and power ….. And a super cool dude.
Justin Thomas so powerful for little guy. Top of backswing is a little steep for my liking.
A cool angle of Rory McIlroy’s swing. Great body rotation on downswing.
Divot after the ball with an iron. A must for every golfer.
A lot of time in the gym enables Rory’s swing to be this powerful.
Adam Scott hitting a wedge. Looks awesome. Left arm so straight on backswing and leg motion so powerful on downswing.
John Daly’s backswing is very long, but in images 6, 7 and 8 the club head position is perfect.
Tiger’s motion in 2000, the swing plane is steeper than it is now.
This is maybe favourite sequence. Garcia showing all his lag on downswing.
Jason Day’s swing is simple, but has great arm extension on downswing.
Michelle Wie has great lag on downswing ….Plus I have a crush on her !!!
Charl Schwartzel’s swing is one of my favs. Great plane. Perfect circle
So Yeon Ryu has great body rotation on downswing.
Lydia Ko has great tempo in her swing although it is not very powerful.
Lee Westwood is one of the top golfers in the world, but he has a bent left elbow at impact.
Padraig Harrington may not have the best swing, but he is very strong mentality and has amazing determination.
Tiger’s downswing has perfect wrist and forearm release. Storing the power and then releasing it at impact.
Louis Oosthuizen has a very simple action but great balance and speed.
A great view of Tiger. Stable legs on backswing but very powerful at impact.
Rickie Fowler has a strong swing but a little flat at the top of backswing. But he is a very cool guy.
John Daly’s impact position here with iron is really good with hands leading clubhead.
Shenshen Fang from China. A world Number One. Very powerful swing and great player. She is a role model for so many young Chinese girls wanting to learn golf. Hopefully her success will inspire Chinese golfers like Se-ri Pak did for Korean golf.
2017 US Open champion Brooks Koepka. Great downswing body rotation.
Koepka’s downswing has great lag. Saving all his power for impact.
Same shot of 2017 US Masters champion Sergio Garcia. He has an amazing lag and release of power.
The King… Mr Arnold Palmer. He created today’s game. Look how much left motion there is on backswing compared to modern day swing. I believe that equipment has quite a bearing on this. My middle name is Arnold!!!!
John Daly has great touch around the greens. Spends hours practicing his short game.
A cool sequence of the ball and sand explosion at impact.
John Daly in the bunker. See how speed of ball is slower than speed of club after impact due the cushioning of the ball after striking the sand. Great looking pants also.
Tiger at the Masters. I love the colour of their sand, pure white.
Last but by no means least.
The LEGEND Severiano Ballesteros my childhood hero.
His swing has perfect rhythm and balance and his determination to win was incredible.
Won three US Masters and three Open Championships.
During the period of US domination in golf. He proved to all Europeans that WE could compete with the Americans.
Because of him I went on my golf scholarship to USA
